Taking care of Acne.
There are some home methods to help treat your acne. The first and most easy way is to wash your face. Try to wash the affected areas two to three times per day, be proactive but be careful not to overdo it. Too much washing can cause other skin problems, such as dryness or skin irritations. Try to keep hair clean and off the face and neck. Oil from the hair can make acne worse. Definatly do not pick or squeeze your acne. Picking/squeezing acne can get germs into the skin around the area and can also lead to scarring of the skin. Some acne treatments can also be bought over the counter at pharmacies or supermarkets. These work by cleaning the skin and drying up excess oil. However if these treatments lead to dry skin or any type of irritation, it is recommended that you stop using the product immediately. It is a good idea to talk to a pharmacist or doctor before you buy a product to find out which ones are the most useful. If your acne is too bad, your doctor may prescribe medication or recommend a dermatologist to you. Medications can lead to huge improvements in how the skin looks and can reduce the number of new pimples. Medical treatment can include:
- Antibiotics to kill the germs, which are part of the cause.
- Medications to reduce the amount of oil being produced.
- Medications to reduce the amount of androgen in the body.
